Arizona summers are HOT! Right now we are in the middle of summer with three-digit degree days, every day.
Our motto is “Friends… serving friends” and we want to help our friends with some tips to more quickly cool down your vehicle after it’s been sitting in the sun.

When you get in your car, and it’s been parked for a little while, the temperature inside your car can be extremely hot, so what would be the most efficient way to cool it down?
Our car is a hot box, it’s a heat collector, and especially the glass in the car, when the sun is shining right down, glass refracts the heat and it shines right down into our dash, and what’s in the dashboard? Well, that’s where our AC system is. So when we first turn the air conditioning on, if you want to try to help out our air conditioning the best thing we can do is roll down the windows. But even prior to that, the very absolute best thing you can do is put yourself a shield up in the window whenever you park your car. We are to give you a free window shield for your front window at Accurate Automotive, to keep your car cool.
If you will use it and put the shield in your window, you will cut down on the time it takes for your vehicle to cool down.
With your air conditioning on, roll down the windows for the first couple of blocks and let the heat exhaust out. The air is not going to be cold coming out of the vents anyway, it’s going to be warm because the heat will have built up with the glass refraction and temperature.
Let the heat exhaust out, and then roll the windows up and you’ll get colder air for a longer period of time, quicker.
It’s not realistic to think we can get cold air immediately after we turn on the AC in the vehicle.
With temperatures above 105 degrees, most people think they are going to get 55-degree air out of their car when the temperature is 105, 110, or 112 degrees and it’s not going to happen.
The best and most efficient that you can get on an automotive air conditioning system, is when everything is efficient like we talked about in this blog post titled “Is your AC blowing warm air? Need more freon?”, and the car itself is in motion. You want the vehicle to be moving so you are using the outside air to push on the condenser to keep it cool, and you want to do that for (3) three to (15) fifteen minutes of continuous motion.
So if you’re going on a long trip, the air will feel good by the time you’re getting settled into your trip. You want to give your car the opportunity to be able to cool itself and you can use some of these tricks.
Put a shield up in your window.
Roll your windows down to exhaust the inside cavity of the vehicle

When temperatures hit three-digit numbers during our Arizona Summer, we really need our vehicle’s air conditioning to be blowing cold air to help us stay comfortable during our commutes. At Accurate Automotive we want to help you keep your vehicle performing at its optimum level.
There are many misconceptions about a vehicle’s air conditioning system, Lee, co-owner of Accurate Automotive explains in the video linked above that “when it comes to freon in the air conditioning system, it’s not supposed to leak.” From our shop in Mesa, Arizona we often hear people say something along the lines of “my system is a little low on freon, and I think I just need to recharge it” and they assume that is okay, and that is okay, at Accurate Automotive we do a lot of that, but it indicates that there has been a problem.
Our technicians are ASE certified and we follow a strict code of ethics so we want to help you get on the road as safely and quickly as possible, we also want you to understand that a leak in freon is often an indication of an efficiency issue in your vehicles cooling system.
Because what happens is, that freon is an actual gas that goes into your air conditioning system, then gets compressed through your compressor, and then gets pushed through a variety of components to make cold air in your car, and so efficiency really matters. If the air conditioning system itself is not efficient, you are low on freon, or something of that nature, it’s just not going to be able to reproduce the cold air you are expecting.
When it comes to Freon, it is important to understand that there are different types and styles of freon that need to be measured. So if you have a system that is low, we want to look at what we call “Cause and Effect,” what was the cause of the system going low? And what was the effect, we always know the effect because that’s when the AC in your car or truck is on and it is not blowing cold air, or it is blowing warmer air than you expect it to, and the effect is something our Professionals at Accurate Automotive are happy to help diagnose and repair.

We are proud to support the City of Mesa in their efforts to help our community stay hydrated with their Hydration Donation Campaign.
The 16th Annual Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign is from June 1 through September 30, 2022, it provides supplies of water to people in need.
The City of Mesa works with nonprofit agencies and businesses to collect the bottles of water which are distributed through the United Food Bank to numerous agencies in the valley, including A New Leaf-East Valley Men’s Center, Paz de Cristo, and Mesa United Way.
The campaign is a lifesaver for the less fortunate during the hot summer months and the need is even greater this year due to the economic challenges.
A $15 donation can help us provide nearly 100 bottles, and a $210 donation can help provide a pallet of water.
We have donated water at Fire Station #1 in Downtown Mesa, and now we are helping raise money to support the City of Mesa and United Food Bank’s efforts.
Our fundraising goal is $300 and we would love for you to help us meet our goal. Every dollar counts and we thank you in advance for your help!
